    Trail of Lightning by Rebecca Roanhorse

    Here, I will be discussing Trail of Lightning by Rebecca Roanhorse. In the novel, Roanhorse offers a fresh take from the mainstream idea of a post-apocalyptic future through the lens of her protagonist, Maggie Hoskie, a Native monster slayer. I shared an excerpt from the novel, as well as, Roanhorse's response as to why she decided to set her story in the future when she was interviewed in 2018 on the Females in Fantasy Podcast.
