DEAR stands for 'Drop Everything and Read' - in grade school, we had DEAR time every day for the last 30 minutes to promote the importance of reading every day. I haven't read every day since :( Reading makes us smarter! In this Podcast, I will read books chapter by chapter. We need to read more as a culture and frankly, I myself need to read more - this podcast is my accoutabiliabuddy but you're welcome to join the fun, growth, and learning!

    The 1619 Project: Origins

    Our first book is the 1619 Project, created by Nikole Hannah-Jones and the New York Times. This project/book has been at the center of controversy since its publication due to those who would see African/Black history erased from memory. 1. that will NEVER happen and 2. It is important for the next generations to have knowledge of all history if they are truly to progress our societies and make the world a better place. There is no American history without African and Black history, that is a fact. Racial injustice is a foundation, and still a major part of our society, that is a fact.
