DESIRE: Reflections from a Single Christian Woman (w/ Kat Harris, Author and Speaker)

DESIRE: Reflections from a Single Christian Woman (w/ Kat Harris, Author and Speaker)

“The biggest misstep that we've taken is that we’ve flattened this robust, multi-dimensional, layered, nuanced experience of our sexuality into a one-dimensional act of sex. We’ve flattened this experience into a set do's and don'ts.
    ♥️
It’s much easier to preach ‘Don’t even get close. Just don’t do anything at all.’ It’s much easier to offer a black and white sound bite than to equip people to actually seek God and look at the scriptures.” -- @therefinedwoman
    ♥️
SINGLE people - take the time to tune into this episode and be enlightened with HOW to express your sexuality as a single person. Expressing sexuality is NOT all about having sex.

3 DANGERS of Being Sexually Closed (The CHURCH, Your FAMILY, and Your MARRIAGE)

3 DANGERS of Being Sexually Closed (The CHURCH, Your FAMILY, and Your MARRIAGE)

The issue of shame, not just about pornography, but shame around sexuality in general, is probably the #1 issue we see in our counseling office. Some are coming into counseling because of sexual issues or they’re coming in for other reasons and, as we dig to the root, we often realize that it’s due to shame around sexuality.♥️We, as parents, can mitigate this if we’re working with our children from a young age to have open conversations around sexuality. We can celebrate sexuality and we can even be the “go-to” for our children when they have questions on these topics.”

Marriage and HISPANIC Culture w/ Adriel and Magdiel Solís (+ a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT)

Marriage and HISPANIC Culture w/ Adriel and Magdiel Solís (+ a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT)

🎉 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! Coming to an Amazon near you in February: FUNDAMENTOS Baraja de cartas 🎉♥You guys! We can't tell you how excited we are for this project to come to fruition. So many of you have asked about the DYMC card decks being available in Spanish because you have a spouse, friends, or family members who don't know English, but would love this resource. This has been in the works for a long time and it will finally be ready to ship to you (2-Day Prime shipping on Amazon) in February. Listen to Adriel and Magdiel (who also served on the translation team) share their experience with the #DYMCdecks:♥“The FUNDAMENTOS deck has been such a blessing to us! Every Friday, we have date night and on our way to the place, we do the DYMC cards (but we usually only get through one card)! We spend all 30 minutes talking about ONE thing. Oftentimes, the one card gets us started talking about different topics that we really needed to talk about.♥In our culture, it’s not common for men to be very open. On top of that, even if the husband IS being open, sometimes we don’t even know where to start. It can be so frustrating to have the desire for your suppose to really understand how you’re feeling, but not know the words to start a deep conversation like that.♥The cards do a great job of breaking down the wall for men to be sensitive about your feelings. It just takes a little card from this deck that can provide an opportunity for you to express yourself and be vulnerable to your spouse.♥Sometimes my husband even wants to dig further and says, ‘Tell me more about this!’ These decks have been such a blessing to our marriage that now we even keep them in our car.” — Adriel Solís and Magdiel De Salas de Solís.♥Listen to this episode with our Dominican (+Puerto Rican, +Wisconsian 😅) friends as they share some powerful insights about their experience in a Hispanic culture and observing many other Hispanic cultures.

Joel Baeza ,

DYMC is amazing!

This is such an amazing tool for couples who are busy, tired, and in need of refreshing in their relationships. DYMC is such an incredible help for young couples who need help in growing together. We love Adam and Karissa!

Sarah Breaz ,

Thank you!

I’m getting married next year to my high school sweet heart. We’ll be together 9 years at the time we get married. I am continuing to look for resources to make sure we stay along side God and live His name every day moving forward. I am so grateful I found this podcast. I’m only a few episodes in so far, and I already am feeling like we will be set up for success by listening to advice and stories of those with such great experiences. Thank you for providing a space for young couples to learn, to forgive, to confess, etc. This space is incredibly comforting and reassuring. I’ve listened to other podcasts that felt like they were guilting their listeners for sins or other things they may have done, instead of learning how to move forward from them. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I’ll be adding your cards to my collection soon.
