#DearUs is a short 5-episode podcast series that explores the lives of six matric students in South Africa in the year of 2020. In each episode they invite you to view their final year of schooling through their eyes in the midst of a global pandemic. #DearUs was created as part of the #DearUs, Matric 2020 digital exhibition curated by Faye Kabali-Kagwa for the Fak'ugesi African Digital Innovation Festival.     The Matric Dance/ The Night that Never Was

    The Matric Dance is one of the signifiers of matric along with matric jackets, special seating in assembly, and other actions and moments that signify the difference between matrics and the rest of the student body. In 2020 many schools had to forfeit this night.
