    But Wait, There’s More!

It’s time for DIE Variety Hour, where we present you death-related stories to tickle your fancy! We present to you a rare case of someone mistaken for dead on the precipice of being cremated; a lottery for coveted Paris burial plots with a costly but cool catch; the terrifying answer to the common worry, “What if I don’t make it back onto the cruise ship before it leaves port?” (hint: death); and a kooky caste of nuns trying to make their way home. Join us for good times and hearty laughs… while you can! P.S. Welcome to the DIE Crew, Joey! He’s been on board writing blurbs and helping with show research for a few months now, so feel free to give him a ghostly disembodied wave as you listen. Cheers! Mothman Ass

We here at DIE tend toward the macabre (who would’ve thought) and thus  have a fascination with all things creepy crawly, such as this week’s focus, cryptids! These shadowy creatures defy explanation, inspire horrific tales, and highlight the wonders of a universe filled to the brim with as-yet unexplained phenomena. Real or not, they are a gateway into how we interact with the world and, naturally, our concepts of death and the great beyond. Join us as we dig into some of the more deadly and deathly of these eldritch beings, including acid-spitting desert worms; a voracious legend of spiritual folklore; a predator with a sweet tooth for farm animals; and of course, the Monster of the Moment, the mysterious (and possessor of copious cake) Mothman! Listen in and let us know about your favorite cryptids, whether you think they are real or a product of society’s overactive imagination, and of course any opinions you may have about Mothman’s generous posterior! 3. Many Mosquitoes

    Many Mosquitoes

This week on Death is Everything we look at the creation of the Panama Canal, one of the world’s greatest feats of engineering, and the sizable human toll that went into its construction. We give our gratitude to the many thousands of laborers that died braving the snakes, mosquitoes, diseases, explosions, and countless workplace and environmental dangers to bring us this crucial piece of infrastructure. The next time you make a purchase made possible through the seemingly magical advances of global shipping, give a thought to the sacrifices of the many people who have made our way of life possible. Then stick around to hear an update on the state of the Darien Gap, the treacherous stretch of land that serves as a route for immigrants looking for a better life. It can be a brutal world, Land of the Living, so we hope that you can reach out a hand to those in need and try to be there for one another.
