Giggles and cackles: check. Thoughtful analysis: ?
Tried to listen to the S2 E5 "Gabriel Over the Whitehouse/Charlie Wilson" episode, but was driven away by the incessant cackling and high pitched laughter from the gentleman member of the team. I have no idea what was so funny that it couldn't wait for a brief synopsis of the film...just guessing but maybe 1933 films are inherently funny? Black and white films are an instant article of hilarity? It's entirely possible that at some point later in the podcast, these cheery youngsters actually engaged in some serious discussion or anaysis of the films (both of which were quite good, btw), but life is too short for me to listen to free-floating juvenile tee-hees for an indeterminate period of time before they finally get there. If they do.
If you have an ironcast guarantee of infinite life, give it a try. If, however, you're here for a finite span, best not waste it on this vacuous tittering.
All in the family
This all in the family podcast (mom, son and girlfriend with occassional comments from Treela, the bird and Mimi, the dog) ) takes you through two films, this season it's horror, from two different decades. They began with the 20's and are working their way up in years. The other film is always from the 2000's. The films have similar cinematic themes. They discuss each film's plot noting such things as the acting, actors, music, cinematography as well as the historical context. This is paired with a unique cocktail created by Deb (go to Decades Podcast facebook page for pictures and recipes).
