DECODE/DISRUPT

Nicolette/ Gabbi

Most self development content stops at awareness. You saw the pattern, you can articulate exactly why you do what you do and somehow you’re still doing it. Decode & Disrupt is about the gap between knowing and becoming. Two hosts work that gap from opposite sides. One decodes the design, the energetic blueprint, the wiring, the why you are the way you are. The other disrupts the pattern, the avoidance, the loyalty to old identities, the why you stay the way you are.

EP 18 | Decoding Modern Dating: Connection In The Age of Infinite Options

How do you choose anyone when the next option is one scroll away? In this episode of Decode / Disrupt, Nicolette decodes what abundance does to the wiring. Evaluation and contact are different states and a nervous system held in assessment can't drop into either presence or risk. Comparison keeps the exits mapped. It also keeps the person in front of you rendered as a set of specifications rather than someone you're actually with, which is why so much dating feels like reviewing candidates for a role nobody is prepared to fill. Gabbi disrupts the belief that more options produce better outcomes. Standards get invoked as evidence of self respect, but a filter that never resolves isn't discernment...it's a way to keep moving without ever choosing. The search itself feels productive. That's the trap. You can run it for years and call it being intentional. Together, we explore why connection requires closing options rather than preserving them, how the architecture of choice makes ordinary people feel replaceable, and what it takes to stay in a room after the novelty burns off. Optionality and connection run on opposite instructions... but you have to choose one. Decode / Disrupt goes live Thursdays on Substack, where insight meets interruption. EP 17 | Performative Healing: Self Awareness or Masking?

In this episode of Decode / Disrupt, Nicolette decodes why insight feels so much like change. Naming a pattern produces recognition, something registers as movement and the system files it as progress before anything has actually shifted. The healed self then becomes available as a role, and a role can be occupied convincingly by someone who has done none of the underlying work. Same mechanism as the wounded version. Better lighting. Gabbi disrupts the fluency as evidence economy. People can narrate their attachment style, their triggers, their family system, their shadow, in language precise enough to pass for integration while running the exact patterns they've just described. Announcing growth to the people best positioned to notice its absence is not accountability. It's a bid to be graded on the description instead of the behavior. Together, we explore why healing acquired an audience, how documenting a process can quietly arrest it, and why the parts that actually move you tend to be the ones with no shareable format. A performance needs a room. Whatever you're actually working on doesn't. Decode / Disrupt goes live Thursdays on Substack, where insight meets interruption. EP 16 | Leaders of the New School

What happens when the person who was best at the work becomes responsible for people? In this episode of Decode / Disrupt, Nicolette decodes why leadership culture keeps rewarding the wrong signal. How certainty reads as competence even when it's guesswork delivered confidently, why emotional distance gets mistaken for steadiness, and where the line actually sits between suppression and regulation. Suppression holds the signal down. Regulation moves it through. From the outside they look identical, and only one of them is survivable at scale. Gabbi disrupts the promotion logic that produced most of the leaders you've worked for. Organizations identify excellence at a task and treat it as evidence of readiness to lead humans, as though technical competence converts. Then emotional intelligence gets filed as the soft layer. It's typically the first thing dropped when pressure rises...when pressure is the exact condition that requires it. Returning guest Keda Shae joins to work the same ground from the floor of it. Together, we explore why decisiveness gets confused with clarity, how a leader's unmetabolized state becomes the whole room's operating climate and what it costs when the stakes climb and dominance is the only instrument left in the kit. Suppression and regulation look the same from the outside. The difference shows up in everyone else. Decode / Disrupt goes live Sundays on Substack, where insight meets interruption. EP 15 | Empty Void or Expanding Reality?

What do you call the stretch where the old thing is over and the new thing hasn't arrived? In this episode of Decode / Disrupt, Nicolette decodes what the in-between is structurally. Why the absence of a defined role registers as absence of self, why the mind reaches for a story to fill unstructured space and will accept a bad one over none, and why the same conditions that read as emptiness are the conditions required for anything unfamiliar to form. This episode reenforces nothing is missing in the gap. What's missing is the shape you were using to locate yourself. Gabbi disrupts the rush to name it. The urgency to define the void, resolve it, or convert it into a plan. In doing so you usually reinstall a version of what just ended. Sitting in undefined space is treated as drift, but often it's the only part of the process that isn't performance. Together, we explore why endings register in the body before the mind consents to them, how people mistake the disorientation of open space for evidence they've made a mistake, and what becomes possible when the gap is allowed to stay open longer than it's comfortable. The void and the expansion aren't two different places. They're the same room, read by two different nervous systems. Recorded Live on August 23, 2026.
