PDA USA: The Podcast!

I just listened for the first time to this podcast after seeing it on FB as I follow no pressure pda and pda USA. I just wanted to thank you all for this episode, it has added a lot of context to my own lives experience as well as some challenges I’ve had with my relationship with my daughter. We’re an all ND fam of 3, I am unschooling my kiddo who is 9. Kiddo and I are AuDHD PDA partner likely adhd. I really resonated with needing to have story to integrate information and knowledge and this theme has of storytelling has been heavy in my periphery of late. The way that was discussed here and the “chunking” of info feels like it’s wrapping up the whole philosophy of what I’m doing and why I’m doing it. I especially resonated when Brooke shared about unschooling and how the focus on the inner self, knowing ourself and the myriad of what that means for us being the main focus untill later in when the kiddo has gained enough experience to have an idea of what lifestyle/path they see for themselves and then you tighten up and fill in the gaps. I feel like that was a vision I’ve had intuitively for so long that I’ve yet to verbalize and it was truly validating to hear it out that way. I Also loved the piece about the challenge in piece-meal or anecdotal support to parents with really specific behaviors and how what we really need to do is zoom out, hold space, do that deep why inner search to see where our own discomfort might come from or just plain wait it out because most things resolve themselves! To be honest I just subscribed to the podcast a few days ago waiting for the upcoming episode on unschooling and just randomly decided to listen to this one and I’m really glad I did.
