I was recently with a group, and the person leading the group has pretty good energy. His wife is definitely in the very good energy, almost mystical spectrum. Their trigger point is the word "energy." And honestly, it is for many people. Your energy is something that emits from you and gives back to you. It goes out, and it comes in. When you're looking to achieve something or meet with somebody, your energy actually arrives in the room or in the conversation about five milliseconds before you show up. It could be a little bit longer, but five milliseconds are the commonly referenced timing. When we think about somebody, that is energy arriving and sharing data points. Energy gives you the ability to have a better mood or a grumpy mood. A grumpy mood often comes about when you have been around a lot of people and you have picked up a lot of what I call "poopy energy." You are filled to the brim, overflowing with thoughts, cloudy ideas, other people's intentions, wishes, desires, and pushiness. All of that can stick to your own energy field. As much as people want me to stop using the word "energy," it is kind of my thing. When I help someone, I focus on the energy of the leader, the person at the top. Oftentimes, it is someone who is a high achiever. Actually, it is always someone who is a high achiever who wants a better result, a bigger result, and to get closer to their goals with more flow, ease, and less friction. If your energy is filled with clutter, poopy thoughts, poopy ideas, or what I call "sand in the machine," your mood will shift to a darker, less abundant, less positive, less upward flowing state. It becomes easier to get angry. Easier to have less clarity. Easier to misplace things. Easier to be late. Easier for things to take longer than they should. Easier to get distracted. That is "poopy energy," which creates a "poopy mood," which creates "poopy results." You get the idea. The goal is to help yourself with your energy first. When you do that, you gain enough clarity to then help others. Have you ever met someone who is just ridiculously positive, someone who never complains? First of all, not complaining at all is impossible. If we never complain, there is no change, no shift, and no different result. So, the question becomes, is it negative complaining that is completely unproductive, or is it productive complaining? What is the energy? What is the mood? What are you doing for your mood today so that your tomorrow can be better? Better mood. Better energy. Better results. Better overall. What are you doing today?
