Everyone has been waiting with bated breath to find out what Stephy Drury would cook up next. The brilliant creator of Stiff Christian Culture Likes has been working hard behind the scenes to bring down toxic churches (Roast In Perdition, Mars Hill!) and support the least of these, all while questioning the assumptions made not only by the megachurch-latte-sipping and ‘Jesus wants me to have a Learjet’ cultists, but even those who are in the cliquish ‘exvangelical,’ deconstruction-via-gentle-ecumenicalism crowds. As someone who is not afraid to look in the eye of those who are quick to shun their evangelical roots while continuing to embrace the patriarchal, elitist and sex-negative underpinnings that make all of this problematic in the first place, Stephy is the perfect person to host this conversation, mostly because she isn’t completely convinced that she is. No one else is doing this work in public in this way. Welcome to the big tent. Prepare to have your presumptions and your expectations short-circuited in all of the best ways!!! I cannot wait for Episode 2!
