Once was a time where people were associated with one career. Now, hybrid identities are becoming more commonly accepted, its ok to be a teacher during the day, work on art during lunch, & a run a business at night.     Robert G. Cole High School Esports team, this is first where we interview the Officers of the RGC Cougars Esports team. On this episode you will hear from Kavan Paul the Club President, Chelsey Tinacba the Media Manager, Steven Birkenhead the Tournament Manager, and Ethan Paul the Stream Manager. You will peer into the perspective of what its like as a high school esports athlete from the juggling extracurricular activies,school, life and running an Esports team. All this started from Kavan pitching the schools principle because he seen an opportunity, the gaming community is a magnet to bring to gather family and friends of different backgrounds. Chelsey even touches on what is like to be a minority female and being a leader in the gaming space. These kids have such a dynamic story and even better supporting bond, they are all there for one another in person and digitally!     Carol Redfield Ph.D. is a Professor at St. Mary’s University since 1998 who made her way to Texas all the way from Michigan. She has turned her passions of mathematics and computer science specifically Computer Gaming, to a life long career of learning and teaching! In this episode you will learn about her life journey, her family, and her affinity to spread her passion of STEM to the the next generation especially young female choosing the path. This episode is a part of an Esports based Interviews. You will learn how she advocated for Esports and was able to be the first College in San Antonio to offer $8000 scholarships specificallt for Esports teams.
