Defining Roles with Kate Barrett

In an age where it seems everyone is rethinking their current professional path, I am finding community in Defining Roles with Kate Barrett. I like the idea of sharing “hard and soft” skills with potential employers. It has been intriguing to listen to a podcast that addresses the stigma of making a career pivot and that there should be no shame in making BIG career moves – ever. It has also been rewarding to hear guests who found themselves struggling in careers because of their learning disabilities (Dyslexia, ADHD, OCD etc.) This podcast is a good listen.

Defining Roles is a good listen whether you’re looking for a new job or content with the one you have. It’s interesting to hear real details about various jobs—some of the jobs I’ve never heard of or even realized were jobs! You never know what you’re going to learn about each week. In each episode the guest gives a piece of advice. That’s my favorite part because it’s a great little nugget for anyone, regardless of where you are in your career.

I’ve really enjoyed listening to Defining Roles. Each episode has its own flavor and gives interesting perspective of career paths and roles in different industries. From technology to fashion, listeners are able to understand the day-to-day and responsibilities through the lens of someone in the trenches. It’s a fun way to learn more about what’s out there! I’ve learned a lot and look forward to more episodes.
