    Rising beyond limits - Ken Kunken

In 1970, while playing football for Cornell University, Ken suffered a catastrophic neck injury that left him nearly completely paralyzed from the shoulders down. Refusing to let tragedy define his story, he turned immense adversity into a lifetime of purpose and achievement.After a long recovery, Ken returned to Cornell to complete his engineering degree and went on to earn a Master of Arts in Education from Cornell and a Master of Education in Psychology from Columbia University. He became a nationally certified rehabilitation counselor, helping others with severe disabilities rebuild their lives. Otis is a seasoned leader whose life’s work has been dedicated to building stronger individuals, organizations, and communities. His passion for helping people succeed began during his 25 years of service in the U.S. Army, where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and served as a Green Beret. From driving tanks older than himself, to working as an engineer in the harsh Arctic, to leading Special Forces missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, Otis’ career spanned some of the most demanding and dangerous environments on the planet.
