    The Burden of Proof

    A great way to keep the receipts on all the times you've done something great is to keep a "love" or "praise" or "proof" folder - at work or at home. Every time you get a note or message about being helpful, successful, or awesome, sock it away in that folder as a place you can go to for proof that you are great at successfully navigating life's ups and downs.

    You might be weird. It's okay, I am too.

    I was weird and I hadn't realized it yet. Not until I explored other "cultures" meaning other families, peoples, and countries. Learning about how other people live has helped me learn about myself and grow as a person. On the path of building resilience, exploring other cultures has given me tools and confidence that I can always grow.

    Old Friends? Good Friends? Or Both?

    Friends were easier to come by when we were younger. We spent a lot of time together, doing the same things, so it was easier to bond and stay connected. While those friendships are beautiful, they can honor a version of you that doesn't exist anymore. In this conversation, I'm defining old friends as those who have known previous versions of you and good friends as those who know who you are now. If you're lucky, the same person can be both. And ultimately, a solid community gives you a balance of old and good.
