Listening to Your True Voice Featuring Winnie Akadjo

In this inspiring episode of Destiny Creators, we sit down with Winnie Akadjo, a remarkable entrepreneur whose journey from care-leaver to tech industry leader exemplifies the power of turning adversity into advocacy. With a decade of professional experience at major tech companies including TikTok, Groupon, Benefit Cosmetics, and Zipcar, Winnie has carved out her own successful path as the founder of LVS Hub, a cutting-edge marketing agency specialising in live and video shopping technology. But her story goes far deeper than business achievements. As someone who navigated the care system, Winnie's personal experiences have shaped her into a passionate innovator working to transform mental health support. Winnie opens up about the critical gaps she identified in mental health care, particularly what she calls the "168-hour gap" between therapy sessions, and how this insight led her to develop a groundbreaking platform aimed at improving continuity of care for therapy clients. She shares what it truly takes when you've had to build your own support system, addresses misconceptions about care-leavers and childhood adversity, and explains how personal trauma can become a powerful catalyst for helping others. Winnie demonstrates what's possible when lived experience drives innovation. She leaves us with wisdom about creating your own destiny when traditional support systems have failed you, recognising your own power despite difficult beginnings, and the transformative potential of turning your deepest challenges into your greatest contributions to the world.

This episode we caught up with Brixton born and raised Telixia Inico. A Published Author, Public Speaker, Podcaster, Spoken Word Artist, Poetess & Creative Entrepreneur. We had a great discussion finding out about Telixia’s experience of navigating the education system as a dyslexic, how this later gave birth to a powerful coping mechanism through writing poetry at 11 years old and finding at 16 her words becoming the way that manoeuvred her experience with gang culture.
