    Today, I am sitting down with Zahyia Rolle, a songwriter, lyricist, producer, and creative visionary who has dedicated her life to existing in spaces that elevate and change the limited narratives, images, and awareness of what it means to exist as a black American woman. With her eclectic background in jazz, hip-hop, R&B, lo-fi, musical theatre, and funk and soul, Zahyia finds ways to push traditional boundaries in the world of music and alternative RB. The COVID crisis of 2020 has catapulted her on a new journey of sound and spirit as she captures and transports us to a higher spiritual vibration.     Today, I am sitting down with Melanie Blow she is the Chief Operations Officer for the Stop Abuse Campaign, a national organization that prevents Adverse Childhood Experiences through public education and public policy. She is a founding member of the RRCAHT. As a member of RRCAHT's board of directors, she uses her experience to help RRCAHT manage its media and communications goals. Melanie also sits on the Trauma-Informed Community Initiative of Western NY, the Downstate Crime Victims Coalition (the only member west of the Hudson) and is a member of the public policy committee of the Association of Professionals Against Child Abuse.

    Interview with Shani Wilson: Black Women in Leadership: Challenging Barriers, Biases and Institutional Racism

    In this very first episode of  Sitting with CICI I sit down with Shani Wilson an activist,  Internal Medicine Board-certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA) with areas of expertise in LGBTQ+ Health, sexual health, minority health disparities with emphasis on mental health to talk about Black women in leadership, challenging barriers, biases, and institutional racism. Community activism and engagement has been especially important to Shani; she is passionate about also giving a voice to the underserved people of Rochester, NY. She also works closely with local LGBTQ+ organizations such as Rochester Black Pride- where she currently serves as one of the co-organizers. In her free time, she is also the Chair of the Inaugural Rochester Police Accountability Board- which is one of the first in the country.
