2.13 | Body-Aligned Mindset in Love + Biz Leadership
Bodywork and mindset are often spoken of separately, which perpetuates dualism, or the artificial mind-body separation promoted by that little bitch Descartes ("I think, therefore, I am").
I was guilty of this too: there was a time when I thought all beliefs existed in the body and that if I did enough somatic work, I would be free of some of the basic harmful thought patterns that had been with me for most of my life.
Beliefs are neither a top down or bottom up thing. They are bidirectional and relational!
And what I eventually uncovered was that when brain and body come into alignment, you are in your true power.
In this episode I clear up some misconceptions about mindset and the harmful, gaslighty ways it's sometimes used in the coaching industry.
I also want to offer you some body-aligned mindset shifts that allow your body to be the healing machine it's designed to be!
For example:
Using your mind to track what's happening in your nervous system
Attuning to and trusting your emotional experiences
Welcoming sensation (changing the narrative and habit of numbing)
Permission to move your body in ways that are considered irregular or "strange"

2.12 | Creating Shame-Free Spaces with Dr. Lee Cordell
There's a feeling that you don't want to feel and that you go to great lengths to avoid.
Getting close to it can cause anxiety and even panic attacks.
We learn it in our homes through the norms passed down through our ancestry.
We learn it in our communities and through the collective consciousness of how to be and how not to be.
It shows up in how we relate to aspects of ourselves, how we treat our partners, how we parent, how we share our gifts, and even how we engage in political discourse.
It's shame.
Though not inherently harmful, shame is most often used as a means to control expression and specific behaviors.
It can keep us silent about things that matter, squandering our delicious gifts instead of sharing them with the world.
In this episode, I sat down with Dr. Lee Cordell, a pleasure-focused, trauma-informed coach and mentor for those looking to take back command over their brain, bodies, and bank accounts. She is the founder of the Institute of Trauma and Psychological Safety and uses her 13 years of clinical experience to help entrepreneurs develop shame-free inner spaces so that they can create healthier personal and professional relationships.
She goes into personal details about how shame shows up in
Business Sexuality Parenting Race/ethnicity Politics and describes her process for creating embodied safety and trust.

2.11 Dismantling Embodied Whyte Supremacy Culture
Do you prioritize thoughts and ideas over sensing and feeling?
Do you delay putting yourself or your creative work out there because you're obsessing over the details?
Do you engage in sex without love?
Much of what you experience as personal can actually be traced back to the collective trauma of whyte supremacy.
Riffing off of Jones and Okun's (2001) article on white supremacy culture and adding to it my own anecdotal experiences as a mixed race, trauma-informed somatic practitioner and psychologist who grew up within a colonial context, I offer my insights on the embodiment of whyte culture and antidotes to releasing your attachment to it.
In this episode, I tackle how urgency, relationship with discomfort, perfectionism, function over feeling, all or nothing thinking, and fear of conflict show up in your everyday life.
Perhaps most importantly, though, I address the separation of head and body (Descartes' mind-body dualism) as well as the heart-pelvic split (collective religious trauma) that can be healed by walking the path of the sacred whore.

2.10 Leading with Integrity in Love, Kink, and Biz with Fauna Gold and Kari Lu Cowell
How do you relate to power in your relationships and within yourself?
This podcast episode is a potent one, sparked from an unpleasant experience I had with a leader in the polyam community who clearly did not walk his talk of intimacy, attunement, and repair.
After posting about this experience on Facebook, I got a flood of notes from people who'd had similar experiences. Fauna and Kari were two coaching colleagues who felt equally passionate about embodying leadership in love and business from a place of integrity and radical self-ownership, so we decided to have this conversation in public.
Fauna is a certified Erotic Blueprint™ Coach, Orgasmic Arc™ Coach-in-training, Accelerated Evolution Guide, and Functional Herbalist. They are the founder of the Astro-Herbal apothecary ROSE & EROS: Earth Medicines for Ecstatic Vitality.
They support visionaries and surthrivers of all genders and sexual orientations to overflow their authentic pleasure cup, heal emotional blockages that prevent them from living their fullest lives, and come home to who they really are as their most vast self.
Kari works as The Anti-Soulmate Love Coach, helping liberate people from harmful romantic conditioning and insecure relational patterns so that they can create relationships rooted in safety, sovereignty, and vulnerability.
They specialize in relationships outside of the cishet monogamous norm (i.e.: polyamory, kink/BDSM, queer, people who want to step off the relationship escalator, etc).
As you might imagine, this queer and healing-centered conversation gets kinky pretty quickly, and we also address:
what power and leadership means from an uncolonizing, healing, and embodied lens;
how internalized systems of oppression play out energetically in our relationships; and how radical self-ownership and relinquishing egoic power can move us toward a more humanized and energetic model of leadership.
Give it a listen and let me know what shifts for you!

Cultivating Safety + Trust Within Your Own Body
How good does it feel in your body to be in the presence of someone you feel absolutely safe with?
You can let go of vigilance. You feel yourself settle into a relaxed, receptive state. You can soften and open yourself to be seen, felt, and heard. Perhaps there is space to deepen a sexual connection as well.
From a coaching or mentorship perspective, what motivates you to get into somebody's container and lay your money down for their program?
It's trust, isn't it?
Trust they can guide you through the process you need help with and that you can surrender control to their guidance.
And if you are an entrepreneur, what facilitates your authentic online visibility? Your honest AF marketing and content creation?
It's feeling safe to be seen, to express yourself. It's feeling trust that your voice or services or message is needed/wanted in the world. It's trusting in your method, the way you get people from point A to point B.
In this episode of the Devotional Anarchy podcast, I define the components of safety and trust, along with:
how safety and trust (or lack thereof) plays out in your relationships and your business;
how lack of safety shows up in our internal experiences and what to do about them;
and the 5 ways you can cultivate safety and trust in your own body and energy system.

Emotional Sovereignty Through Fluency + Fluidity
The ability to be aware of your emotional landscape and navigate your way through emotional debris is one of the most important aspects of your
Ability to connect vulnerably and intimately with your partners;
Integrity and accountability as a leader in your professional relationships;
Capacity to showing up for the messy humxn behind your business.
Because you lead with your body and because we are all energetic beings affected by one another, having a regulated nervous system regulates those around you.
Like most people of my generation especially, I didn't grow up in an environment where it was safe for me to express my feelings.
I was a highly sensitive person with nowhere to put my big inner experiences. I experience what most big feelers do, which is have their feelings made wrong or gaslit.
So I did what most people do, I put them away.
I buried them and numbed them.
Along with that came addictions, depression, anxiety, and chronic illness.
It wasn't until I got to my somatic training that I began to unwind stuck emotions and ancestral trauma from my system, which led to a:
more subtle awareness of emotions, energy, and intuition; deeper self-connection and self trust; calmer, more responsive nervous system.
Emotional awareness allowed me to insert that critical pause, that space between that allows you to name what's arising before it takes over and gets waaaay messy.
In this special eclipse episode embedded inside retrograde season, I offer
The cultural and body-based reasons why emotions get stuck in your body and how it affects your functioning;
How restriction of emotional range is linked to shame and overwhelm;
Mindset shifts for unapologetic emotional expression, permission giving, and unconditional approval;
Somatic tools for emotional trauma release.
