    What do you do when it looks like you have everything on the outside but feel nothing on the inside? Six years ago I found myself in a CVS parking lot at ten o’clock at night, a burning sensation in my chest, desperately needing to fall apart — and not being able to shed a single tear. That night I realized something. The woman sitting in that car was a machine. Programmed for greatness. Built for excellence. Trained to perform in every room except her own. That was the night Did You Human Today was born. But I wasn’t ready then. I was dipping my toe into healing. I was dipping my toe into using my voice. I told a couple of stories and stopped because the woman in that parking lot didn’t have the courage yet to tell the stories I’m ready to tell now. What changed? Life didn’t give me a choice. My mother dying in my arms. My baby sister gone less than a year later. Marinda three months after that. Businesses I let go. A version of myself I had to release.
