Inconsistent information quality
I’m a recent revert and also a medical practitioner. The first episode I listened to was about how Islam views Jesus, and I was hooked. 5/5 episode on quality and substance. The host of that episode used excellent research to back his claims and lots of historical relevance to the evolution of religion. I’ve listened to that episode 3 times and have shared it with my friends.
Where this show lost me was the episode released today, with a guest who is supposedly a doctor. Of course I was looking forward to the episode given the quality of the previously mentioned, and as a scientifically and medically inclined individual. However, there is unfortunately just two men speaking about women’s health in regards to what is or isn’t necessary for childbirth, anti-vaccination references, and anti-mental health monologues woven throughout the entire episode. “Bro” this and “bro” that, an extremely try-hard effort to convey opinions in a “cool” way, with no evidence. And in fact the “doctor” seems to not have a sincere grasp on how to differentiate between good and bad research, instead simply concluding that it is all awash. It’s also clear that he must not have worked through the pandemic or have any meaningful grasp of how we were all affected and grateful for the research and vaccines that saved our planet, Alhamdulillah.
This episode’s quality is a 0/5, and will be a big turn off for those who were attracted to Islam for the vast scientific advancements that were possible by Muslims throughout history. These guys are simply taking it a step back.
