Discussing the career of medicine for a physician audience. Not just telemedicine but healthcare consulting, entrepreneurship, and lifestyle are all essential aspects of building an enjoyable medical career.
I want to live wherever I want and practice medicine. A nomad at heart but a digital nomad first and foremost.

Finding Your Own Customers as a Physician
I think it's important to stay ahead of the curve. In some ways healthcare moves slowly but the spaces where physicians can make money change rapidly.
Finding your own client base or finding your own patients, whether as a physician or a health coach, is an important skill to develop. I don't think it has to be that complicated.
In a recent episode, I talked about a Healthy Aging program you can create. I think understanding where you would find these clients and how you execute this is important.
The goal is to build your own client based and genuinely love what you do as a physician. That has been missing in our profession to a large extent.

Capture Your Value
Selling yourself short may result in resentment and burnout.
The best thing you can do for yourself is to figure out what you're worth and market yourself accordingly. I know that the concept of selling yourself isn't often pleasant, but it's valuable.
Pushing your value will push the value you deliver to your clients. It's good for everyone - I think.

Creating a "Healthy Aging Course"
When there is so much good content already out there, there is no need for us to reinvent the wheel.
I finished reading Dr. Andrew Weil's Healthy Aging book, which is fabulous. So well-researched, so well-written.
This book has everything I would need to create and market my own Healthy Aging course, program, or even clinic. Perhaps I would make some adjustments but it's already great content, so I can roll with it as is.
Whether you're a pediatrician or internist or orthopedist, there s a healthy aging platform that you can create based on your knowledge and expertise. Imagine the impact it would have on patients.

The Skills You Have to Achieve Non-Clinical Goals
We've already made it as MDs and DOs. Achieving something outside of medicine isn't going to be much more challenging. As cheezy as it sounds you have to believe that you can achieve it.
Finding the path towards that goal can be a bit of trial and error but you'll figure that out as well as long as you keep trying different doors.
The most important thing I can think of on this exploratory path is to maintain some security by either keeping your foot in the clinical door or at least having an excellent financial reserve to fall back on.

Your Business Takes Effort
I'm traveling through Dublin.
As I'm working remotely, I am realizing how much effort and time it takes to get my business off of the ground.
I don't think it's hard work but it's consistent and requires persistence. It won't happen spontaneously but there is a lot of payoff.
I am working on the following businesses at the time:

Being a Digital Nomad Physician in Dublin, Ireland
Dublin is supposed to be beautiful. And I see some gorgeous old buildings. But the city is too crowded, the downtown too loud, full of cars, and not much good food to go around.
Lots of pubs you can hit up and definitely a great nightlife and shopping. But I wouldn't make such an expensive city a hub for myself as a digital nomad.
