    Dignity Awards 2024

    We’re doing something a bit different this week. Instead of asking the National Citizens Panel to score passages, we provided them with five of the highest dignity passages from Democrats and five from Republicans, and we asked them to rank them from most inspiring to least inspiring and giving reasons for their scores. It's time to hand out some dignity awards! About The Dignity Index The Dignity Index is an initiative by UNITE, a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing political divisions by promoting respectful and dignified public discourse. The Index measures and scores public speech on a scale from contempt to dignity, encouraging a higher standard of communication among public figures.     The voters have spoken and for candidates it’s time to declare victory and accept defeat… but did they do it with dignity or contempt?     We’re about two weeks from Election Day and things can get a bit heated down the stretch. On this episode, the Dignity Panel looks at four clips from Senate races around the country.     Social media influencer posts

    Last week we had ourselves a dignity fest as we looked at the surprisingly friendly vice presidential debate. This week… we’re going to the other extreme as we look at comments from non-politicians that were posted on social media.
