Dinner with Racers
We’ve learned that the best conversations in the world of motorsport happen over dinner (and an occasional alcoholic beverage), so we’ve tricked some of the most interesting characters in the sport to sit down with us and share their tales. Some are funny, some are enlightening, some never discuss racing at all… oh well. Join hosts Ryan Eversley (factory racing driver for Acura) and Sean Heckman (proud corgi owner) as they literally drive across the country for you, the listener, so please try and not write too much hate in the comments section. This whole thing was made possible by Continental Tire, as well as Acura who haven’t objected (yet) to the mileage on Ryan’s MDX.

I was going to write a fancy review, but the title says it all. This is the racers’ racing podcast. Thanks Continental!

Attitudes Write Checks Their Careers Can’t Cash

UPDATE: checked in again…worse. These guys reach for the lowest common denominator in a very artificial feeling way…they play the dummy role for who they think their audience is. And they act as though they’re peers of, say, Paul Tracy and can talk to him as such. These guys are D-bags. A blown chance of a pod given the quality of the bookings. By hosts that simply CANNOT KEEP QUIET. When first starting a podcast, it’s excusable, as interview skill isn’t an inherent feature of most people’s skill sets. But after the time these guys have been at it there’s simply no excuse. When you have a guest as great as Bobby Rahal-both as a legend of American auto sport and a fantastic raconteur with amazing stories and insights to offer your audience-there’s no need to interrupt him or follow his every sentence with an ‘uh huh’ or ‘right, he was blah blah…’ just let the man talk. If you have any conversational skill at all you’ll know when it’s time to change gears pardon the pun. It just boggles my mind that their remain SO many podcasters that clearly put a ton of time and effort into their product only to undo all that great work with their inability to let great guests and gets do what your audience has tuned in to hear: TALK. Meant constructively mind you, and again, that’s part of why it’s so frustrating-they do so much else right, it’s a shame.
