What a WONDERFUL joy it’s been to find this podcast! Cinephiles will cherish the deep analysis and casual listeners alike will surely love the great interpersonal insights from Becky and Jon who’ve simply done the most amazing job putting this together from concept to action. I’m seriously impressed by the chemistry they bring to each episode and their ability to make conversation flow smoothly from breaking down scenes to blending it with current film and employing humor at the same time. Each take has been a blast pulling big names in the industry and I can’t wait for more. Roll the tape and get started - you wont’t regret it!

Only a few episodes in and this is already one of the most natural and freeflowing film conversations around. This podcast not only gets to the root of why the films they are talking about work so well but the passion oozing from the hosts and guest make this very unique. For the guests they are genuinely excited to talk about the film that may not be their own but it’s a way to share their inspirations. Then for our hosts Becky and Jon they are our guide into these great film minds always asking great questions and being personable too. Many times film discussions can become clinical but that’s not the case here. On pins and needles for the next episodes!!

The new Sony podcast The Director’s Take has a great new angle of talking about movies. Directors often have to talk about their own movies & the stories behind them but this podcast turns that around where the director gets to talk about them be of their favorite films instead. The first 2 episodes have been fantastic diving into a forgot not talked about enough modern classic Adaptation & the 80’s vampire drama comedy Fright Night. The hosts Becky & Jon have such a natural rapport with the guest & the conversation is like listening to their be of your own with your friends & buddies. They ask great questions & the guest feel like the are so comfortable talking freely & giving some personal insight & stories about these movies they love. I can’t wait to see what other director guests they have on & more so what favorite movies they choose to talk about. The hosts are clearly so passionate about movies and listening to their convos with these directors is so fun. Love that the discussion is about movies the directors choose to talk about, not necessarily their movies. A+ listen even for a non-cinephile!
