    You Don’t Need the Whole Plan, Just the Next Step | Disciples Calling

    What if waiting on God has become your excuse for not taking the next step? We often say we're waiting for God to open a door, but are we actually looking to see which doors are open? Following Jesus doesn't mean knowing the entire plan. Sometimes it means trusting Him enough to take the next step, even when you have no idea where it will lead. In Part 2 of Brianna's conversation with pastor Nathan Anderson, they talk about what it really means to say YES to Jesus, overcome the fear of the unknown, and continue walking in obedience when God's plan doesn't make sense yet. They discuss the difference between patiently waiting on God and becoming comfortable with doing nothing, why obedience sometimes takes longer to make sense than we'd like, and how learning to recognize God's voice helps us know when to move. They also dive into Acts 8 and Philip's obedience to the Holy Spirit, the importance of setting healthy boundaries to avoid burnout, and why God's answer of "no" might sometimes mean "not yet." In Part 1, They talked about making room in our schedules for God to work. Now we're talking about what happens when the opportunity comes. Will we actually say yes? You don't need to know where Jesus is taking you. You just need to trust Him with the plan and keep taking the next step.     What are you missing because you’re too busy? This week, Brianna talks with pastor Nathan Anderson about our schedules and being willing to let God interrupt what we have planned. Nathan loves a good to-do list, which brings up an important tension: planning ahead can give us more freedom and margin later, but even the best-planned schedule needs room for flexibility. When we're completely focused on getting to the next thing, we can easily miss the people and opportunities God has placed right in front of us. What if we started looking at some of life's interruptions not simply as inconveniences, but as opportunities to serve God? In this episode, we talk about planning without holding our plans too tightly, becoming more aware of what's happening around us, and learning to recognize opportunities to serve when they appear.     What does it really mean to be a disciple of Jesus? In this episode of Disciples Calling, Brianna sits down with Mahalia, a recent high school graduate whom she had the privilege of mentoring throughout high school, to talk about what it looks like to intentionally learn from and follow Jesus. Mahalia shares how her faith became her own in eighth grade and how she realized that following Jesus requires more than simply calling yourself a Christian. You have to intentionally pursue Him.
