    65. Two things I wish I knew when I was charging $30 for a haircut

    65. Two things I wish I knew when I was charging $30 for a haircut

Want to see the full breakdown? https://theneweraofbarbering.com/podcast-two-things-i-wish-i-knew-when-i-was-charging-30-for-a-haircut
Summary: Two things I wish I knew when I was charging $30

Time and space is required to be able to start any new business
    – Stop trying to build something else now
–Focus on the long term, not short next price raise
–Just because you don’t know now does not mean don’t improve the now
–If you take care of this, you can give that your full attention (100% focus= good)

Most barbers have no clue what they are doing, so don’t follow
–Don’t limit self to what city charges
–Don’t listen to others because they have more years or charge $10 more
–Don’t follow what others do unless you want same result
–Think critically (what no one does)
–Most will not agree. That’s fine. Everyone has their wants.

    62. Why the “know your worth” culture is cringe/toxic

    62. Why the “know your worth” culture is cringe/toxic

Want to see the full breakdown? https://theneweraofbarbering.com/podcast-why-the-know-your-worth-culture-is-cringe-toxic

Warning: Title is clickbait but the audio will explain

    What it is
    - When all people say for business advice is to “know your worth”

    Why is this said?
    - More than likely this is the only advice around the business the person knows, or is just repeating what was said to them

    Theory examples
    - Amazon’s quarter and yearly strategy meeting is not centered around “knowing your worth”

    Practical examples
    - The New Era Of Barbering is anti know your worth. Like that would be stupid if I worked with a barber just to tell them for the next 2 years to know their worth and that’s how their business improved.

Total Eye Opener

Just listened to this during my last week of my 9-5 job. I start my full time barber shop opportunity next week and i wanted to be able to pick someones brain who knows the industry and understands growth and what it means to be an elite barber. D Lucs is that man! Successful on youtube and clearly a success on the podcasting industry, he’s absolutely here to help barbers believe in themselves and become better versions of each other. Will totally be here for future episodes IG-@noeglover
