Colour Therapy, Career Changes, and Coming Home to Yourself with Emily Smith

Colour Therapy, Career Changes, and Coming Home to Yourself with Emily Smith

Are you obsessed with interior design? Who isn't, right?! This week's guest, Emily Smith, a holistic and conscious interior designer, is going to blow your mind when it comes to how energy and colour (or color!) can affect the ambiance and flow of your home.

Emily's work is centred around the concept of home, on a physical, emotional, spiritual and mental level. Through her offerings, including her spiritual and energetic gifts, she helps guide her clients back to their natural state of peace, joy, connection from within as well as helps them align to their space. Emily's journey, including her career change, stems from her own spiritual awakening -- she definitely knows how crucial it is to find alignment first before we go to seek it from outside of ourselves. In addition to EFT, she also works a lot with colour, including colour mirrors, and the reading she gives Brianne left her shook!

    In this episode, we discuss:
Why home isn’t just a place - it’s a feeling - and it all starts with you, on the inside. How Emily shifted out of the 9-5 paradigm to create a career that suits her unique gifts. How energy is, literally, everything. Her spiritual awakening and how she deals with the ongoing purges that result from one. What it means to shed layers from our ego. How colour therapy can both heal us while also helping us get back in tune with our authentic truth. What it feels like to be out of alignment with your soul and why being in alignment is basically the backbone to life and the reason why we are here. Learn more about Emily here: https://www.emilyrosehomedesign.co.uk/

Have you ever had an inner knowingness about doing something that defied logic? Maybe it was moving across country, quitting a job, or hitchhiking across Iceland? Lauren Childs knows all about listening to your gut when it comes to carving out a new unique path and she's here to share insight on her experience with intuition and doing what FEELS right -- not what makes sense.

The very first episode of Do You with Brianne Hogan gets right into it. Here, podcast host Brianne Hogan (geez, how many times do I have to say my own damn name?) introduces herself and the podcast!

Canadian writer (Washington Post, BuzzFeed, Elle, BBC, HelloGiggles, etc)  and author (Friendship Signs, Joy in the Stars) and self-described "mystical goofball" Brianne Hogan (oh, look, I said my name again), a 38 year old, single Capricorn, kicks off the show by sharing her journey from highly sensitive "cry baby" kid to writing X-Files specs as a "wild and crazy" teenager to pursuing acting at NYU, and, eventually, saying good bye to her old dream that included marrying Ben Affleck and winning an Oscar by following her intuition and embracing a new dream -- writing.

And, why and how she's committed to the phrase, DO YOU.

    During the show she discusses:

How and why she shifted her passion and purpose to one that feels more authenticher spiritual journey, including her recent spiritual awakening hitting rock bottom, multiple times sharing a small cottage with her parents during her mid-30s and having a room without a doorwhy she doesn't think failures and mistakes are bad eating a gross ton of hot dogs her morning routine her tips for starting a writing careerBrad Pitt or John Mayer?and what "do you" means to her and why

The Support I’ve Needed

Brianne doesn’t hold back. She looks at the “quirks” in her life and starts to debunk mainstream society’s superficial labels and expectations by acknowledging what has kept her from bursting into the fullness of her own life and potential. I’ve only listened to the first episode (and have followed Brianne’s writing for many years) but I love how this episode made me feel better and more empowered about my own “quirky” life path. I literally felt motivated to sit back down and work on my own writing again. So happy I gave this a listen. Looking forward to her conversations with future guests!
