What Makes a Great Sex Life for Married Couples?

Many Christian books talk about sexual issues within broader works on marriage, but few resources comprehensively and biblically guide couples on sexual intimacy. Navigating sex in marriage has always been tricky, and research overwhelmingly suggests that the pandemic has further complicated intimacy in marriage.    In her new book, God, Sex, and Your Marriage, Dr. Slattery applies a biblical framework to the practical challenges in sexual intimacy and helps couples by addressing questions like:  Why do we struggle in this area of marriage?     Is your love life mediocre? What would you like married couples to know?   Can you and your spouse talk openly about sex? Why is this important?   Does sex create more conflict than unity? What are some key points for our audience?   Has shame sabotaged your hope for intimacy? What are some key points for our audience?     Dr. Juli Slattery is a clinical psychologist, author, and co-founder of Authentic Intimacy, a ministry dedicated to reclaiming God’s design for sexuality. In addition to speaking, she hosts the podcast Java with Juli.  In 2020, Juli launched Sexual Discipleship®, an online platform to equip Christian leaders for gospel-centered conversations about sexual issues. She’s the author of twelve books, including Rethinking Sexuality; Passion Pursuit; and Sex & the Single Girl.  She and her husband Mike live in Akron, Ohio, and have three grown sons.   Book: God, Sex, and Your Marriage (Moody Publishers)   Program: Victorious Family Podcast  Our mission to equip and empower parents to disciple their children. Darrell Griffin, D.Min. is a Senior Pastor, a certified Ministry Coach and Enneagram Trainer who is committed to educating, empowering and transforming the lives of God’s people.  Dr. Griffin and Dr.  Terence Chatmon, discuss how to embark on a journey to discovering and building a better YOU! Do you like the person you are becoming? Do you believe that your life now is what God had in mind when He created you? Are you constantly in conflict with your spouse, children, extended relatives, co-workers, and friends? How can you express yourself in a non-defensive and non-threatening way so that those with whom you have personal and professional relationships better understand you? As a pastor, spiritual director, and relationship coach, Pastor Griffin has taught the Enneagram to numerous colleagues, church lay leaders, congregations, not-for-profits, schools, businesses, and community service organizations in the last decade. Since January 2000, Dr. Griffin has served as the Senior Pastor of the Oakdale Covenant Church of Chicago, Illinois. Under Dr. Griffin’s visionary leadership, Oakdale continues to be recognized as a haven of hope and spiritual transformation in the community and has become known as “A Great Church, with Great People, Serving a Great God.”
