    The podcast is back! In Today's episode, I am speaking to Alison Foyle, my long-time friend! It was so wonderful to have her on the podcast and find out what she's been up to. Alison is a journalism student but her background is in filmmaking she uses journalism in a nontraditional sense to give everyday people a platform to tell their story. We discuss how she got into Journalism, why she loves telling real stories, and how you should do what your passionate about with the tools you have around you. I also find out about her new film Covid blips an experimental 6 minute documentary of archived footage collected on an iPhone over the first UK national lockdown in the covid- 19 pandemic.  I really enjoyed recording this episode and I hope you all enjoy it!! :)

From that moment, ESSĒN, the label, was born. ESSĒN believes that footwear is the foundation of a well-curated wardrobe and the basis of a great outfit. Shoes carry us, add height, alter posture, and affect our confidence. Marre believes you can learn a lot about a person's character and identity from their choice of shoes, their image, and how the wearer wants to be broadcast to the world. Her brand ethics are embedded in women’s day-to-day realities, striving to create an effortless style that balances design, interesting details, and comfort.     In today's episode, I am speaking to Kalkidan founder of Sancho's the Home of Sustainable Fashion, located in Exeter, UK. They found their inspiration for Sancho’s Shop through traveling to developing countries such as Ethiopia where they saw, first-hand, the effects of the fast fashion industry. The low wages, mass dumping, social disruption, and environmental destruction affected them to their core. Sancho's believes that fashion should be built to last, in fair trade conditions with organic, recycled, and regenerative materials.  They are passionate about Independent and Black-owned brands who are creating beautiful fashion & accessories whilst making a difference. Through activism and spreading awareness, they are working towards a kinder world.  We discuss the importance of ethical fashion, black lives matter, and the small steps we can make to change the world.  I hope you all enjoy it! :)

Since its inception, the campaign has grown to include brand collaborations, internships, knowledge-share platforms, and educational experiences for students, and its remit continues to grow.     In this episode, I am speaking to Jacky & Nicole founders of ALLI.  Alli was born out of a desire to see women’s needs more highly reflected in public spaces. After years of having little to no access to period products when and where they needed them most (in the restroom), Co-Founders Jacky and Nicole decided to channel their frustration into a solution with Alli. Alli is a social enterprise that offers female-focused solutions designed to improve the spaces women frequent and address the modern-day woman’s wants and needs surrounding feminine care. Through Alli's smart, touchless feminine product dispenser and touchless disposal unit, Jacky and Nicole aim to increase accessibility to feminine care for all women - by providing solutions when she needs it, where she needs it. We discuss one of my FAV topics the stigma of periods, how and why they started their business,  and the importance of women being able to access period products wherever they are.
