Fantastic Information! My go-to dog podcast

Succinct, helpful information from a vet. I have listened to every episode—a few of them twice! Dr. Summerfield doesn't ramble or drift into non sequiturs. I don't know if she writes a script, but she is definitely organized her thoughts. Her podcasts are easy to get into and contain solid recommendations that have worked well for our dog.

The episode on dog barking was helpful. She recommends first focusing on managing the situation, i.e. closing the windows and using the radio or white noise. That made an immediate difference! Also, calling your dog to you when it barks and treating it when it comes. It worked for us.
______
Before we got our standard poodle puppy, I subscribed to a dozen dog podcasts to find something good to listen to on my commute. I wanted one that was practical and concise. I found I got irritated by most of them because they were off-the-cuff and unorganized. I didn't want to hear about the million steps that someone took to work with a particular dog that had a lot of specific issues. I wanted information that I could use. Some of the podcasts used an interview format that dragged on without addressing basic ideas. Some had terrible audio quality. One by one I began unsubscribing to them.

"Dog Talk" is the only podcast that survived the chopping block. This is my go-to podcast for trusted dog information. The ideas in this podcast align with the current canine research found in the books by Ian Dunbar, Dawn Sylvia-Stasiewicz, John Bradshaw, & Karen Pryor that I have read.

Bravo Dr. Jen!! Keep 'em coming. Thanks for helping me raise a GREAT dog!

Amazing dog info resource

This podcast is both entertaining and very informational. I am a dog trainer and I use it as a resource to give to pet parents when they have questions that I don’t have time to get into in depth in class. The “Don’t Touch My Stuff” episode has been one that I have referred people to listen to the most. Thank you!
