    Tara is a certified trainer and former groomer who specializes in cooperative care just for dog grooming. Her program the Fearless Grooming Program helps dog guardians to train their dog to cooperate for grooming. It doesn't matter if you groom your own dog or they go to a groomer, this program will teach you how to prepare your dog to have a more positive grooming experience. R+Dogs is committed to reward-based methods rooted in ethics and positive welfare. Renee's adoration for dogs began early in life. In her teens she started volunteering in shelters before going on to become a certified veterinary technician. While working in the veterinary industry Renee realized that she had a passion for understanding dog behavior so she decided to pursue it. In 2018, Renee opened her business R+ Dogs with great local success until COVID forced her to re-strategize the way that she was able to help dog guardians. Now for the last 2 years, Renee has almost exclusively been offering her expertise and guidance in the form of virtual consultations to dog guardians around the world. She has not come across any behavior concern that cannot be improved via working virtually. As Renee loves to say that she works for positive change for both ends of the leash because the only way to give our dogs the best life possible is by understanding them first. Continued education is very important to Renee and she dedicates herself to hundreds of hours each year on improving her knowledge and skills. This year Renee is due to graduate from her Animal Welfare Science, Ethics and Law Masters degree along along with taking several other further education opportunities such as becoming a Certified Family Dog Mediator.

    Sara McLoudrey is the owner of Decisive Moment Pet Consulting and has been a professional dog trainer for 18 years! Currently, Sara is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC with IAABC), CPDT-KSA, Fear Free Certified Professional Level 1 Elite and Certified Trainer, Low Stress Handling Certified, FitPaws Master Trainer, and TagTeach Level 3. Over the years she has seen how our relationships with dogs have changed and even how the “positive/force free/clicker” training world has evolved.

    Sara specializes in Care with Consent (cooperative care), human-directed aggression, resource guarding, helping senior dogs thrive, and living with intact dogs. While specializing in these topics, of course, she sees all types of serious behavior cases.

    Currently, she offers personalized behavior modification programs, monthly membership communities, and virtual classes such as Care with Consent Foundations, Tip Top Toenails, and Muzzle Magic. In addition to working directly with clients, she also offers services for pet professionals - veterinarians, veterinary nurses, groomers, and training colleagues.

    In addition to Decisive Moment Pet Consulting she is also an Animal Trainer at Synergy Behavior Solutions, a veterinary behavior practice. Her professional animal training career started in 2004, founding ROOT Dog Training in suburban Chicago. In 2016, she sold ROOT, moved to Portland, and joined the team at Synergy Behavior Solutions.

    Over the years Sara has completed with positively trained dogs in retriever field tests, high-level competition and rally obedience (Utility and RAE level), conformation, and elite level nose work. Currently, Sara shares her life with Rizzo, a 12 year old American Water Spaniel, and Lindy a 4 year old Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever.

    Susan G. Friedman, Ph.D. is a professor emeritus in the Department of Psychology at Utah State University. Susan has co-authored chapters on behavior change in five veterinary texts, and her popular articles have been translated into 17 languages. She teaches seminars and courses on animal learning online (How Behavior Works: Living & Learning With Animals), with students from 60 countries so far. Susan also consults with zoos and animal organizations around the world. Susan was appointed to the F&WS California Condor Recovery Team from 2002 – 2010, after which time the team was retired due to the success of the birds in the wild. She is the Chairperson of the Scientific Advisory Committee of American Humane Association (AHA) Film and TV Unit, and a member in good standing of ABAI, ABMA, IAATE and IAABC.
