We’re going to give you a sneak peek behind the curtain on conversations and topics at the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office. In the second episode, we take planning and preparedness to the backcountry with Mountain Rescue Aspen Rescue Leader Coordinator Scott Messina. Scott highlights what you can do to ensure you're prepared to go into the wilderness and how to ensure you're safe in the backcountry. 

Sheriff Joe DiSalvo will talk about the statutory responsibilities of the Office of the Sheriff regarding search & rescue, Deputy Grant Jahnke will discuss our newest patrol program - Rural Area Deputy or RAD.

Emergency Manager Valerie MacDonald will go into the last section of the Ready, Set, Go program and talk all about evacuations, and more great planning and preparedness tips.
