I disagree wholeheartedly with the reviewer that said that “this is not the episode to listen to if you are looking for strength through a difficult time.” This podcast (and specifically the episode referred to) is exactly what you need to listen to! If however, you are looking for a podcast that will tell you that during this process you will never have self doubt, regrets or difficult days, this is not the podcast for you. This podcast is amazing precisely because Jennifer self reflects while openly and honestly sharing the difficult moments so that it’s understood what a roller coaster ride this process can be for most. By Sharing the reality of divorce and her own struggles, she’s telling people something that most wont admit for fear of looking weak or unhealthy. Unlike the reviewer who referred to it as a “war,” Jennifer casts it instead as a journey. One fraught with many ups and downs. Jennifer shows that giving yourself permission to feel lousy can be cathartic and energizing. Even better, she shares herself in these times and gives specific and concrete examples of what life can look like in the situation. Most importantly, when she’s finished feeling down, (usually much quicker than most), she decides to move on and focus on the ups! This podcast is everything!
