Don't Blame Me! / But Am I Wrong?

Actor/Content Creator Meghan Rienks and Producer/Writer/Director Melisa D. Monts are like every other person with access to a microphone, they started a podcast. But to be fair they’ve been at it for a while. It all began with one show which led to another, but as they say, more is more. On Mondays they release Don’t Blame Me!, which is an advice podcast where listeners call in and we share our thoughts on situations such as “What to do if you’re going to your boyfriend’s family function and you haven’t told him that you previously slept with both his twin brothers.” Then on Thursdays they release But Am I Wrong?, where they ethically gossip about pop culture, politics, their lives, and the listener's lives. Listeners write in and Meghan and Melisa tell them if they’re wrong or right in a situation. On Tuesdays and Fridays they throw in a little something extra as well. Meghan and Melisa strive to create community, grounded in activism, mental health, and inclusively. Think of them as your blunt, honest friends who give you the advice you need to hear, not what you want to hear, but are rooting for your success. What they lack in credentials, they make up in opinions. They’re professional unprofessionals. So if you’re looking for a new slate of podcasts to add to your routine, we’re here for you.

I'm Sorry 🤷♀️

I started listening about 3 weeks ago& I must say I was enjoying everything I was hearing. Politically and advise wise. I'm a progressive democrat so I welcomed most all the political banter. Until you were talking about the Grammys. I am a staunch Cowboy Carter supporter and fan. Most importantly for bringing Rhiannon Giddens and the black artists in bluegrass to the forefront. Country music radio has paid the better part of my household bills for the last 25 years. The conservatives and racists you guys were pinpointing as far as artists are concerned are the more up front outspoken ones. That is not the case for all the artists, fans and the community as a whole.

I typically listen through Spotify, (so sorry Apple) however I haven’t figured out how to leave a review through that platform so here we are. I came across Meghan in the Youtube era of Lilly and Jocelyn (adored the content then and still adore it now). But, January of 2016 is when I became an avid follower. I was personally struggling mentally and as a freshman in college at the time I was away from my support system. Meghan had posted a video “What Having Anxiety Feels Like” on her channel and I’ve followed along ever since. I came across Melisa through this podcast and instantly fell in love with her personality. Both woman offer so many people such a safe space with their platforms and I don’t know if you both truly understand the impact that you have. So, I will be graduating with my PhD this summer and I truly don’t think I would’ve gotten through all those late nights without the familiar voices and positive outlooks of these two strong woman. Thank you.
