Bad Lawyers and Government Guns: The Cartel Connection Nobody Talks About

We here at PAIN are honored to have welcomed Peter J. Forcelli, a recently retired Deputy Assistant Director of the Department of Justice’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), where he served as head of training to the Don't Hide The Scars podcast. Forcelli is a respected investigator noted for developing complex criminal investigations targeting armed gangs and criminal organizations. He has made over one thousand arrests and has served over three hundred search warrants. He is well regarded by those who have worked with him for his unwavering commitment to what he calls “investigative excellence.” His work in the investigation into the Neese Bello Organization led to members of the group pleading guilty to over 145 home-invasion-style robberies. Still, Forcelli is best known for his efforts to fight for justice in instances where he has uncovered injustice. He has been involved in the exoneration of eight people who were wrongfully arrested and convicted in the Bronx, New York, for murders they did not commit. Forcelli is also a cancer survivor—he developed lung cancer from the rescue and recovery efforts at Ground Zero. He is a recurring guest speaker at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum in New York City. Peter, along with coauthor Keelin MacGregor wrote The Deadly Path: How Operation Fast & Furious and Bad Lawyers Armed Mexican Cartels. The book is a raw and unflinching account that details the harrowing journey for Peter as a whistleblower in the Fast and Furious federal scandal, Forcelli shows the public and personal cost of standing up for justice and public safety. Why the War on Drugs Failed: Addiction, Fentanyl and the Truth No One Wants to Say

In this episode of Don’t Hide The Scars, hosted by Jason LaChance alongside Flindt Andersen, Founder and Executive Director of PAIN: Parents & Addicts In Need, Greg Glod joins the panel to expose the hard truths behind the failed War on Drugs, the fentanyl epidemic, and why America continues to treat addiction with punishment instead of care. From the origins of drug criminalization and racialized policy, to the realities of detox, insurance barriers, methadone dependency, and trauma-driven substance use, this episode dives deep into what actually fuels addiction—and what doesn’t. The discussion explores Rat Park, fentanyl economics, relapse rates, incarceration failures, and why connection—not sobriety alone—is the true opposite of addiction. This episode is essential viewing for: Parents navigating addiction in their families People in recovery or struggling with substance use Clinicians, treatment professionals, and advocates Anyone questioning whether our current system truly helps—or harms If we don’t change incentives, treatment models, and public understanding, nothing changes. This conversation tells the truth that many systems avoid. 👉 Learn more about Parents & Addicts In Need (PAIN), follow us on social media, listen to more episodes, get involved, or donate: https://linktr.ee/painnonprofit For more on OpiAID: https://opiaid.ai or call Dino Miliotis 910-777-4915 For more on New Perceptions North: https://www.newperceptionsnorth.com For more on Flindt Andersen, to have him speak at your organization, visit https://www.flindtandersen.com/
