    Careers in Economics, Finance and Technical Analysis: Dr Smita Roy Trivedi

    My guest today is Dr. Smita Roy Trivedi. Dr. Smita is a faculty member at the prestigious National Institute of Bank Management, Pune Like any true academician, Dr. Smita is a quintessential learner. She has been on a continuous journey of learning, right from her graduation in economics to her post-graduation in International and Mathematical Economics to her PhD. in finding the effect of the exponential growth of financial markets on macroeconomic parameters and most recently into the world of Technical analysis.  During our chat, Dr. Smita speaks about her journey, her work, and her latest book,  “ Effective Trading in Financial Markets Using Technical Analysis" which she co-authored with Mr. Ashish Kyal, CMT in 2020.  She also shares valuable advice to students who want to explore careers in the fields of finance and economics either as a  professional or as a researcher and academician.     Journalism - Perspectives and how to prepare for a career in digital media : Subhajit Sengupta

    My guest today is Subhajit Sengupta. Subhajit is a newsroom leader and a Digital Media expert. He has headed Delhi & North East Bureaus for one of India’s leading news organisations, CNN-NEWS18. His specialisation lies in the ideation, optimization and monetisation of video content He has been an investigative journalist who has extensively covered humanitarian crisis, counter-terrorism, internal conflicts & forced migration. His investigative documentary on ethnic killings of Assam led him to win the prestigious 'Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism' in 2016 . During our chat, we talk about his journey and his experience of finding his feet while moving from a small town to big cities. We also talk about evolution of journalism in the digital age, how real stories that matter can be told and hear his advice to young people who are looking to enter the large ecosystem of news presentation.
