We cover this film from its early conception as an idea on Joe Eszterhas' dirty cocktail napkin to its resurgence as a camp classic. After we cover the plot, its characters, and their strange motivations, we each pair the film with another for a pair of double bills for your viewing pleasure.

In Two Minds ,

Quirky but delightful and insightful

Love the chemistry between Spike and Jake. And if you give the show time to grow on you, you will be richly rewarded. The boys clearly are very intelligent and well read, and particularly well versed in film. The show itself is a zany hodgepodge of high-brow and low-brow fare. Nowhere else on earth will you find in-depth reviews of films such as Aguirre, Salo, In the Realm of the Senses, Bicycle Thieves, and Jeanne Dielman alongside Love Actually (which they properly and hilariously pan), Home Alone 2, Jingle All the Way, and Gremlins 2. That is some range they’re covering! I find their show very soothing to listen to at night. Their humor is good. Their chemistry is palpable. And their comments, though I certainly don’t always agree with them, are always thought provoking. They also keep things politically neutral which is appreciated. Overall, this show has been a delight to add to my roster, and is now my solid favorite long-format movie review podcast. Yes, the shows are long. But that’s a big part of the appeal. They really dig into scene by scene details. Bravo, boys. Keep up the good work!

Perfect podcast for movie fans

This podcast is great. Great sound quality and voices. The hosts have informed and smart takes on all the movies, but without pretense. Because of the Oscars, these are the movies that I’m thinking about right now. Also, thanks for teaching me about Ingrid Olderock because I was admittedly confused on my first watch of Bestia. I feel like I have two new friends!

Fun and funny pair!

I’m enjoying these. Great trivia in the stories and quite interesting.
