Double Stuff

These men, handsome I assume, are serious about their Oreos in a strange, hypnotic way. They lose themselves in flavor profiles of stuffing and in the sharp crack of the cookie, reminiscing about lost childhoods, growing up, broken lives, that IT monster that kidnapped and killed a few people in their village, and as they unwind their tales, you find yourself swept away in their melodic crunch-crunch-crunch. They eat the cookies, and they do not share. You abide, because the alternative is raging, raging at the empty wrapper. There is a ballet to their words, and yet I can only imagine their pleased faces when the episode’s end is nigh, crinkled wrappers at their feet and unsightly crumbs scattered to and fro, and I can feel their sense of satisfaction, crystalline yet temporary. There will be another cookie. It cannot hope to satisfy like the last, but we still seek it.
