    10.5 - CinemaCon discussion & The Informers

    We've got something new for you! We know our release schedule has been erratic lately and we're sorry for that. We'll do better. But we've got something to hold you over until number 11. We're going to start doing some looser more freeform mini episodes and this is the first. We start by speed rounding our thoughts on a bunch of the news from CinemaCon.     10 - The Rules of Attraction & Masters of The Universe

    Hey, we're back after a brief unplanned hiatus with another Tubi double feature for your ears. First, we pay tribute to the late and maybe kind of weird James Van Der Beek by going deep on his turn as Patrick Bateman's brother in "The Rules of Attraction" (based on the book by the 100% definitely kind of weird Bret Easton Ellis). Then, we switch gears and prepare for one of this summer's big IP relaunches by taking a look at the 1987 Cannon Pictures opus "Masters of The Universe". Why does He-Man barely use his sword in this? Could Dolph Lundgren speak any English at all at this point? And how much fun was Frank Langella clearly having? We attempt to answer all these questions and more. And of course as a palette cleanser we dive into the season 3 premiere of the Tubi original THE LESBIAN HOMIE.     It's Larry Fishburne week on the show! For our first movie this week, we head to 1996, when Hollywood was still trying to make Stephen Baldwin a thing. We're talking about the fun but silly buddy action comedy "Fled". Then, we head back to the sketchy streets of LA for 1992's "Deep Cover". Is this the best movie we've covered so far? How good is Dr Dre's title track? And was Clarence Williams III's character actually a figment of Fishburne's imagination? We tackle all these topics and more. And of course we continue our journey through season 2 of THE LESBIAN HOMIE. Did Bruce and Reese hook up? Will Jason ever move from the couch back to the bedroom?     It's 90s month on DTT! For our first movie this week, we're breaking down 1991's notorious flop Nothing But Trouble. What the hell is this movie? Is it actually supposed to be funny? And if not, why are there a bunch of funny people in it? We're not sure, but join us as we talk it out. Then we flash forward to 1998 to talk about the little seen Neo noir/dark comedy Caught Up. We wonder why Bokeem Woodbine never got more starring roles, and also discuss Snoop Dogg's brief cameo as "Kool Kitty Kat", Clifton Powell's eyepatch, and of course the absolutely insane ending. And of course we take a detour and talk about another episode of THE LESBIAN HOMIE where Bruce is still doing scummy Bruce things and E is still MIA. Follow us on insta @downthetubi.     6 - Reindeer Games & The Grinch That Stole Bitches

    For our first movie this week, we're breaking down the late John Frankenheimer's final theatrical release. It's the head scratching, aggressively silly early oughts action flick Reindeer Games (starring Ben Affleck, Charlize Theron, post alcoholism Lieutenant Dan, and Lincoln Hayes). Then, unfortunately, we move onto 2024's The Grinch that Stole Bitches, a 68 minute long barely a movie "movie" starring Money Bag Mafia (yes really). We also take detours into a discussion of forgotten 90s hip hop group Sporty Thievz, the Pee Wee Herman Christmas Special, power ranking the cast members of American Pie, and of course THE LESBIAN HOMIE season 2 episode 2. Sorry the episode is a week late, the holidays got the better of us. Number 7 should be out on our regular schedule if all goes well.

    5 - Sidekicks & Raw Force

    For our first movie this week we break down 1992's Sidekicks. It's a weird vanity project from Chuck Norris, his brother, and a guy named "Mattress Mac". And spoiler alert: It's not good. Then we travel to Warrior's Island with our friends in the Burbank Karate Club. We're talking 1982's Raw Force, a very explicit slice of kung fu/zombie/cannibal craziness. PLUS: Season 2 Episode 1 of The Lesbian Homie. It's got much higher production value, but does it still have the sauce? Tune in and find out.
