I wanted to like this podcast. Good Catholic podcasts are hard to find. It’s either rah-rah, let’s all hold hands, new springtime, head in the sand nonsense, or hateful, anti-papal screeds. The golden mean seems to be almost entirely absent from the Catholic podcast world.
Unfortunately, I started listening with the show titled 3 Days Darkness. Big mistake. Right away, this guy starts promoting the satanically inspired Medjugorge “apparitions.” You would think a man who puts himself forward as some kind of expert on Catholicism would understand that the local bishop and the entire bishop’s conference has repeatedly condemned these so-called “apparitions” and has ordered that no one travel there under the pretext of making a “pilgrimage” to an alleged “holy site” and no one should promote these “apparitions” as authentic. The local bishop remains the competent authority in such matters as all informed Catholics know. To disobey the bishop on such a clear directive is one indication among countless that these “apparitions” come not from heaven but from the depths of hell and are authored by the Father of Lies. Michael Davies, E. Michael Jones and numerous others have exposed this phony traveling “apparition” show, the multi-millionaire “seers” and the heretical statements supposedly made by Our Lady. You would think a knowledgeable Catholic would know such things. Alas, I am left to conclude that the good Doctor is not as knowledgeable as he purports to be and severely lacks Catholicity. None of the troubling aspects of Medjugorge are a secret, not in the era of the mighty Google. A few minutes searching will yield a treasure trove of Medjugorge trash. The Blessed Mother follows soccer in heaven! Yay!
Due to his lack of discernment on this crucial issue and what I can only conclude is his willful ignorance I cannot recommend this podcast. I’d give it zero stars if possible.
