In this episode of Resolutions That Work, we talk about why people are afraid to make real decisions, and how that fear keeps them stuck in cycles of hoping, trying, and wavering. The Bible shows us that decision-making is not just willpower; it flows out of who we are as people created in the image and likeness of God. From the beginning, God gave mankind authority, real authority, to make choices that shape life on earth. When we don’t understand this, we either wait on God to do what He has already empowered us to do, or we assume our circumstances, our past, or even our biology override our choices. We also clear up the difference between unbelief and doubt. Unbelief is a lack of trust in God, but doubt is wavering between two options. When we waver, we struggle to receive, not because God has withheld anything, but because our hearts aren’t settled. Real decisions remove wavering and allow God’s grace to work powerfully in us. This teaching connects directly to what I share in my book Wired for Success: Programmed for Failure, that real success starts in the heart, not with pressure, fear, or religious striving. When your heart is aligned with truth, your decisions become stable, and your life begins to move in a new direction. If you’ve ever wondered why resolutions don’t last, join me this week in CyberChurch. This message will help you understand what’s missing and how to start making decisions in harmony with God that actually change your life.

    3. The Curse Is Broken

Click here for more on this topic and other free resources - https://www.drjimrichards.com From childhood, most of us have heard that “Jesus is the reason for the season,” but we rarely connect Christmas to one of the most powerful truths in the New Covenant: the curse is broken. The birth of Jesus was not just the beginning of a sentimental story; it was the beginning of the end of fear, wrath, and separation from God. When Jesus came, lived, died, and was raised from the dead, He broke the curse of the law and removed the enmity that existed in our minds about God. Christmas is the announcement that God is no longer against us, that peace and goodwill toward man have been eternally established in the blood of Jesus. Sin did more than cause bad behavior; it distorted how we saw ourselves and how we saw God. When man believed he was less than who God said he was, fear became the automatic response to God’s presence. That fear turned every commandment, every law, and every warning into something interpreted through guilt and terror. We saw God as the source of the curse instead of the One trying to protect us from it. But at the cross, Jesus became our sin, took our punishment, satisfied wrath, and established what Isaiah calls the covenant of peace: a binding, eternal commitment that God would never again relate to us through anger and destruction, but through mercy and kindness in Christ. To say “the curse is broken” is not a religious slogan; it means your life no longer has to be defined by fear, worthlessness, shame, or the expectation of judgment. In Jesus, you are no longer a “sheep for the slaughter,” waiting for the next bad thing to happen because you think you deserve it. You stand in a new reality where God is for you, not against you. Faith becomes possible because fear is no longer your master. When you believe the report of what God accomplished through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, your heart can finally rest—and from that place, you can trust, follow, and live in the blessings of God. Join me this week in CyberChurch as we unwrap the greatest Christmas present God ever gave us: freedom from the curse and absolute peace with Him through the Lord Jesus Christ.

    2. The Power Of The Christmas Story

Click here for more on this topic and other free resources - https://www.drjimrichards.com From childhood, most of us have heard “the Christmas story” so many times that it becomes easy to reduce it to a sentimental scene—a manger, a few shepherds, and a star overhead. But in Scripture, the birth of Jesus is anything but a children’s tale. It is a precise, prophetic, and powerful unveiling of God’s plan for the world. Long before that night in Bethlehem, God foretold where the Messiah would be born, when He would come, and how He would be protected from destruction. Nothing happened by accident; everything unfolded exactly as He declared. Behind the simplicity of the nativity is a remarkable backstory. Prophecies in Daniel revealed the timing of the Messiah’s arrival. Herod’s violent reaction mirrored ancient attempts to stop God’s deliverance. Shepherds near Bethlehem guarded the very lambs used for Passover—pointing to Jesus as the true Lamb of God. And John the Baptist, uniquely qualified by lineage, stood as the only priest able to identify the Messiah with divine authority. When you see how perfectly God fulfilled His word in Jesus’ first coming, confidence in His promises—including His return—becomes unshakable. This isn’t just history; it’s an invitation to trust. The Christmas story anchors your heart in the unchanging faithfulness of God. He is not a destroyer but a deliverer—warning, preparing, and guiding His people just as He did in the days of Joseph, Mary, and the shepherds. When you understand how thoroughly He has kept His promises, you gain courage to believe Him for what lies ahead, both in the world and in your own life. Join me this week in CyberChurch for The Power of the Christmas Story, as we uncover the hidden power within the birth of Jesus and learn how it strengthens your faith, restores confidence in God’s Word,
