Episode 12: The Reign of Blue

In our final episode of season 1, Jason, Carie, and Ryan are joined by Matt Parrish! Matt plays the Blue Avatar's Second. He drops in to tell us about what it's like to play one of the limited number of NPCs in DrachenFest and the out-of-game processes he helps orchestrate as an Avatar Second. Matt also shares his excitement about this year's Reign of Blue, from how they won to what they have in store for us this year!

Episode 11: Blue Camp

The Reign of Blue is upon us as Carie, Jason, and Ryan cover the final of the five dragon camps! Blue Camp Head Ref Elise manifests to talk about the fun happenings and hospitalities of Blue! Elise fills us all in on the aspects of Blue, the roleplay opportunities to be found there, and some of the best ways players can make the most of joining the camp! Episode 9: Everything Limbus

DrachenFest Assistant Head Ref Taylor DuCray hangs out to tell us all about the aspects the Red Dragon represents, what players can expect by being part of Red Camp, and the types of characters best suited for Red. They also share a bit about what it's like to be part of the Assistant Head Ref Team for DrachenFest.

From the aspects the Shadow Dragon represents to the kinds of characters best suited for Shadow, Kat fills us in on all the amazing things players can experience in Shadow Camp! While she's here, she also helps us understand the role of a Camp Lead Ref.

Episode 6: The Drake Academy

A unique aspect of DrachenFest US is the incredible youth program, The Drake Academy, which enables families to experience the event together. Samir King is the Drake Academy Coordinator and one of DrachenFest's Child Wellfare Officers. He stops by to tell Carie, Jason, and Ryan about how the program offers kids ages 10-15 a trustworthy, safe way to explore and adventure in the Dragon Isles, while giving parents time during the day to champion for their dragons! The Drake Academy is an in-game adventuring school that teaches kids the combat, magic, and alchemy skills of the game and the roleplaying and community skills they need to be great larpers.

Episode 5: The City

What in the world is the Bazaar at DrachenFest? We invited DrachenFest US City Director Bela Turk to stop by the pod to talk about the incredible things happening in the Bazaar. Carie, Jason, and Ryan get to know Bela while discovering the opportunities that players have in the Bazaar – from shopping real world vendors and interacting with in-game enterprises to learning all kinds of skills from the guilds! We dive in to find out about vendors and enterprises, as well as the six guilds (or is it seven!?!?) and how you and your character can get involved.

Episode 4: Green Camp

New players face the fun challenge of selecting a camp for their DrachenFest character. It can be a difficult decision, so on this episode, Jason, Carie, and Ryan dive in to Green Camp. DrachenFest Green Camp Coordinator Dan Eisele joins the podcast to share insight into being a champion of the Green Dragon. Dan tells us about characters that are a good fit for Green Camp, the in-game leadership opportunities present in the camp, and the role he holds as Camp Coordinator!

DrachenFest US Silver 2 Referee Stefano Mach joins the podcast to discuss what it means to be a champion of the Silver Dragon, as well as give his insight into the kinds of characters that are a great fit for Silver Camp. He also talks about his experience coming to DrachenFest for the very first time having never larped before, and the lessons he learned that can help new players be better prepared when they arrive at Coopers Lake!

What's it like arriving at DrachenFest for the first time? Jason, Carie, and Ryan dive into the rules and mechanics attendees can expect to encounter with DrachenFest US Head Referee Rhys Benson.
