"Sub-Something" with Drew Gehling
Dylan and Connor are joined by Drew Gehling (Waitress, Little Shop of Horrors). This is your newly certified pilot, Captain Gehling, speaking. It’s going to be a smooth flight through your ear canals. Buckle in for a rip-roaring conversation about Drew’s storied career in show business. Who gave Christine Baranski mushrooms in The Good Fight? Who was in the pilot of Succession (and stood in for a Roy child?)? Who found out how amazing it is what baking can do 8 times a week? This everyman of the Broadway community tells us about playing Pomatter opposite so many Jenna’s, the family of Waitress, and the time he stood in for Gavin Creel during the album release concert for Sara Bareilles’ musical. He notes early seeds of Jeremy strong’s method acting, his love of the Broadway community, and how his fiance Julia Mattison convinced him to do Little Shop. We cover many of the movie to musical adaptations that Drew has starred in, including Dave, Almost Famous, and more. We also chat about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, Ed Sheeran’s new album, being a Swiftie, and more. Now sit back, relax, and enjoy the flight. Be sure to see Drew as Orin Scrivello in Little Shop of Horrors off-Broadway through July 14!Follow Drew on InstagramFollow DRAMA. on Twitter & Instagram & TiktokFollow Connor MacDowell on Twitter & InstagramFollow Dylan MacDowell on Twitter & InstagramEdited by Dylan
