    Rich Padulo on Making Halloween Accessible for Every Kid

    Halloween is supposed to be fun for every kid, but a house with a lot of stairs can shut some of them out. Evan, Isaac and Mike sit down with Rich Padulo, co-founder of Treat Accessibly. It started in 2017, when Rich’s six-year-old daughter saw a boy in a wheelchair and asked how he would trick-or-treat at their house. They made a lawn sign that night. Today, more than 300,000 homes across Canada have one.     When an Accessible Van Gets Hit: The Challenges No One Thinks About

    In this episode of Driven by Purpose, Evan shares a deeply personal story about what happened when his wheelchair-accessible van was rear-ended while his daughter Sydney was inside. After the crash, Evan had to navigate an emergency situation while trying to get Sydney, who uses a wheelchair, safely out of a vehicle whose accessibility ramp had been damaged in the collision. What followed revealed a side of disability that most people never have to think about. From finding emergency help and transporting Sydney to the hospital to replacing and repairing a specialized vehicle, a seemingly straightforward car accident became a major disruption to the family's everyday life. The van isn't simply transportation. It's essential for getting Sydney to school, medical appointments, therapies, and everything else she needs. Evan also talks about the woman who stopped at the scene and stayed to help, sacrificing her own time to support a family she'd never met. Her simple act of kindness became one of the most meaningful parts of an otherwise frightening experience.     How One Dad Turned Trauma Into Purpose, He Rode 4,000 Miles to Give Back

In 2013, Jeff’s 13-year-old daughter Haley suddenly became critically ill and spent 261 days in the hospital, including four months in a coma. Years later, Jeff decided to give back in a way that only he could: by riding his bike across the country. His 4,100-mile journey in 2024 raised money and awareness for Ronald McDonald Houses and became the foundation for One Dad’s Mission.
