    DTVC Podcast 268, "Expect to Die"

    We're joined once again this week by screenwriter Richard Pierce, as we look at the Jalal Merhi classic(?) "Expect to Die." Before that we start by discussing some of Rich's movies, in particular his Lifetime ones, and the place they hold in the current market.⁠ Then we get stuck in on the film, going over all of our key highlights--one of which we discover later I missed because I was watching what I didn't realize was the TV edit on Merhi's Film One YouTube channel.     DTVC Podcast 267, "The Minion"

    In this episode I'm joined by Freddie Young from Full Moon Reviews as we look at one of my favorite Dolph films, "The Minion". We start in the first 15 minutes or so talking about game 3 of the NBA Finals and the mess in New York when Trump attended the game. From there we spend the next 90 minutes or so looking at the year in movies so far, what's done well, what struggled, and what surprised us, and why we think all that happened. And then with "Private Obsession," we get into why this one doesn't work work for us, and how it betrays the elements of Erotic Thrillers that makes them so good.     "DTVC Extra" are shorter solo episodes that I'll be posting on some weeks in addition to the main podcast. This episode is part two of my look at the Indiana Jones films, with "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," and "Dial of Destiny." I get into where the series was at 19 years after the third film, why we had a long wait for the fourth, and was it worth it. Then I finish up on the fifth one, and my ultimate conclusion was that this was a series that stopped innovating, which was a huge departure from the series that changed how action and adventure movies were made.     DTVC Podcast 263, Trap Houses

    Ty from Comeuppance Reviews is back for his monthly spot on the pod as we look at a Trap House double feature with the Tubi Original "Trap House" and the new Netflix release "Trap House." Before we get into the films, for the first 45 minutes or so we talk about what we've been watching lately. Then with the first Trap House, we discover this isn't that bad, but is it enough to keep us away from the dreaded tangents? The second one proves again that kids never help a movie, and the teen gang attacking cartel money stashes are no exception. Finally, our spotlight on a fight looks at the end fight in "Death Warrant" between Van Damme and Patrick Kilpatrick.
