And guide you on a bizarre science fantasy journey through the histories of the body and the folds of space! We will be talking about Dune, a couple of chapters at a time (ish)! And our thoughts surrounding it from a young, queer, black lens and with a healthy skepticism for the science fiction literary canon! And Frank Herbert's "Cerebral, genius writing"!

    22: BOY MAN MAN (FEATURING GIRLBOSS FEMINISM)

    FEMINIST ICON FRANK HERBERT HAS DONE IT AGAIN, WITH ANOTHER FANTASIC AND WOKE CHAPTER, OF DUNE! WHAT DO THE FREMEN THINK OF WOMEN? ARE WE GENIUSES OR SHOULD WE BE TRULY EMBARRASSED AT OUR LACK OF AWARENESS? HOW MANY GIRLBOSS MOMENTS CAN JESSICA HAVE BEFORE SOMEONE RESPECTS HER? NONE OF THESE QUESTIONS ANSWERED, AND MORE, IN DUNEIVERSITY! This chapter is the most Dune-ass chapter of Dune we've encountered so far and we have almost nothing to say about it! We hope you enjoy us cramming the chapter before we record, because we are going to continue to do so! We marvel at our own ignorance, and also Frank's ignorance and his careless use of language that has cultural significance! We vomit at the sight of any heterosexuality in Dune! We learn that the strength of a woman can, indeed, be boundless (we didn't know this before now), and we have the grand revelation that Dune is an "epic cycle" just like "The Iliad", whatever that is! No one has ever come to realise this before. Idiot Paul is scrombling around and being a precocious boy-man-teen-guy, we meet Chani who probably won't come up again, and we repeat the same quote from this chapter with increased frenzy. No segments this week cause we were in a hurry! Maybe we'll do them next week, but who knows! Thank's!

    21: OOPS!!!

    VERY UNFORTUNATELY TO SAY THAT The majority of our scintillating discussion about a very interesting chapter has been LOST TO THE SANDS OF TIME!!! (Like in Dune) It eludes our past and furturesight, it evades our ancestral memories, we experience a time-blindness yet unknown to us; our dang recording device stopped working about four minutes into the episode proper. This happened because we are a podcast cursed by god, that should not exist but continues to do so despite his justfied hatred of us. HOWEVER, watch and marvel as I stretch 4 minutes of content into thirteen minutes for listeners' enjoyment and pleasure! You, listeners, will simply have to settle for the podcast of your imagination and your dreams, instead of us listening to a Funny Song and spending too long on worms of the week(s) even though we didn't really have any. You would be surprised to learn that we actually had many almost positive things to say about this chapter; we nearly liked it! Unfortunately, all proof of positive Dune experiences have been unintentionally erased.     20: FRANK HERBERT'S FAILURE OF THE IMAGINATION

    Lump! Lump! Lump! Lump! BAROOM!!! Pop-hop-hop! Step.... drag... drag... step.... cha... cha... real smooth... to the left! Take it back now y'all! One hop this time! Are these relationships normal? Is the family a factory for making society? Is cinnamon the only spice Frank knows about? Is Dune cool, or is it bad actually? Is Frank ever going to expand on his THEMES? Has Frank ever written a poem? NONE OF THESE QUESTIONS ANSWERED, AND MORE, ON DUUUNEIVERSITY! This episode, we're busy turning our brains off and becoming unconscious under stress. We meet a sexy worm, a thematic bird, and some little mice that probably aren't important and don't mean anything. We skirt around a Freudian analysis of Dune and then remember that we don't know anything, experience the sensation of time darkness, and forget Feyd Rautha's name (it's been a year!). We take a break to do a little google about the cha cha slide, and we wonder WHAT COULD BE IN THIS MYSTERIOUS FOLDER???     18: WE WATCHED THE TRAILER

    EYES AUDIBLY SNAP OPEN WE HAVE NEVER HEARD A PINK FLOYD SONG IN OUR LIVES!!! So, look. We aren't alive again but we're something more like undead creatures, rising from our graves with rotting flesh to deliver 45 minutes of barely edited content. There's a lot of background noise in this episode but it's called AMBIANCE and you're going to like it. Josie got me out of bed at 9pm (listen,,,) to record a podcast and I wasn't about to put together a good audio setup. We talk about the DUNE 2020 TRAILER which happened, we guess. Then we talk about the DUNE 1984 TRAILER which we enjoy much more. And then in between those things we talk about lots of other ??? stuff ??? that's seemingly unrelated to Dune if that's what you're here for, and then we talk about stuff we've been enjoying (???) recently. MOSTLY WE TALK ABOUT HOW WE HAVE BEEN DOING FOR THE PAST, UH, FIVE MONTHS AND ALSO ABOUT BAD TV WE USED TO WATCH.
