    Another of the cuff conversation, or rather maybe the beginning of the brother discussion about academia. My honored guest is a first class professor with a PhD in history and a colorful and fruitful life that most of us can only dream about. However, his biggest life achievement is being a friend of mine, something only few dear to even try. Together we dive in to: who was and who is doing science. Some personal hatred of mine towards certain academic disciplines ( no, not economy, not this time but soon they will feel my wrath), few historical figures and most of all funding. Like in real estate, academia today has 3 rules: funding, funding and funding.

Another off the cuffs conversation but this time we give our most sincere advice to international graduate students and post-docs. We explore the intricacies of getting offers, negotiation, and understanding your worth in the socio-economic landscape. We tackle the challenges of giving advice and the importance of recognizing your position without internalizing limitations. Teaching tips are on the house especially for physics classes. Drawing from experiences like teaching and anecdotes from college life, we celebrate the resilience and brilliance of today's students. Somehow I managed to include a story about where I have to demonstrate my parking-fu to Morpheus (played brilliantly by my dad)."too many new things hit you at the same time when you are starting collage" and yet students are still amazing!

    Pod 6 - American generations, governance and early complex society

    We start our conversations with my friends book on American generations. We dive into examining how societal perceptions and cultural norms have evolved over time by addressing common misconceptions about generational differences and their impact on political landscapes and social values. We find a cheeky way to give a shout out to the movie "Independence" day and even more so to "Idiocracy" and it's wonderful Costco history museum. After a muddled description of Louis Althusser's theories on capitalist ideology we quickly move in to topics of early social organization, and the formation of social power structures and institutions, hierarchy and hegemony. We conclude with the importance of the lessons of the past, knowledge in general and lack of anthropology education rather then empathy in the world. And yes, I give my very controversial take on Bronze Age warfare....
