E24 Why Darwin's concepts contributed to personal responsibility.

We protect people from themselves and allow the gene pool to weaken...the flip side is that unregulated things get barbaric. Why is the government's hand in everything from driving our cars to using public land, in what ways is it necessary and in what ways is it hurting our society and human population as a whole? Also, why is poop so important?
