Happy Birthday America!  This episode presents a speech by JD Collier for the Flag Day ceremony at Emmaus, PA which occurred on June 14, 2022.  The speech mentions such Eagles as George Washington and such Hosses as Benjamin Franklin, Ulysses Grant, Abraham Lincoln, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Also, JD Collier defines the terms EAGLE, MUTT, and CORGO.    EAGLE – an individual shaped by a service adversity (such as Armed Forces, Law Enforcement, Fire & Rescue, and their spouses) MUTT – the common immigrant citizen of these Americas, from all over the world and part of the glorious cultural diversity which becomes our melting pot. HOSS – a social integrity hero from our American past. CORGO – Corpo-Government Oligarchy – Big Government in cahoots with Big Food, Big Medicine, Big Tech, Big Media, and Big Sports and Entertainment obviously conspiring against America and The MUTT.   Also in this episode, JD Collier shares some local 4th of July festivities including a fire truck parade through the neighborhood and fireworks at night. This episode is chock full of Americana!  Enjoy!  The Eagle Hoss & Hound podcast is a platform for respect. Respect for the Eagle - the individual with a service background (including spouses). Muhammad Ali Part 2 Ft Clovis Williams SERVICE S3 E25

Besides being "The Greatest" and the Heavyweight Champ of the World, Muhammad Ali was a devout Muslim.  His religious beliefs guided his life.  In fact, he followed his religious bent when he declined enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1967 (at the height of the Vietnam War).  His refusal to join the U.S. Military after being drafted was highly irregular at the time, and he faced prison (not to mention having his World Heavyweight Boxing title rescinded - and all of the earning potential that went along with it).  Still, Muhammad Ali stuck with his beliefs, and took the conviction for draft-evasion. He was no draft-dodger, like many American males who fled to Canada and/or burned their draft cards.  No, not Muhammad Ali. He believed that his status as a conscientious objector should be accepted, and he appealed his conviction all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.  In 1971, after four years not being able to play his sport, he resumed the fight towards earning the heavyweight title when the Supreme Court overturned his conviction. Of course "The Greatest" lived up to his dub as he beat George Foreman in 1974 to once again win the Heavyweight boxing title. In February 1978, Ali lost to Leon Spinks, but later that year, regained the Heavyweight Boxing Title for the 3rd and final time beating Spinks on September 15th in New Orleans. In addition to being a gold medal winner for boxing (representing the USA in the 1960 Olympics in Rome) and being the WBA Heavyweight Champ, Ali was honored in 1999 as he was named "Sportsman of the Century" by Sports Ilustrated magazine. Besides being a great boxer, Muhammad Ali influenced public politicies towards civil rights for all Americans with his many speaking engagements and his outlandish celebrity personality. He surely advanced social integrity making him a HOSS indeed!  The Eagle Hoss & Hound podcast is a platform for respect. Squanto & The 1st Thanksgiving - COMMITMENT - S3 E23

As William Bradford offered a prayer at the first Thanksgiving celebration, he specifically named Squanto who he described as a “Joseph” sent to aid the Pilgrims. Like Joseph from the Bible, Squanto had been taken away from his family and sold into slavery. Then, later he returned and helped to redeem his people. Squanto was a Native American of the Pawtuxet tribe in Massachusetts. An English ship visiting the coast near his home off of Cape Cod in the early 1600’s had lured him and his companion braves, capturing them and taking them away to be sold as slaves in Spain. Squanto was purchased by monks in Spain who over 5 years’ time taught him Christianity. Then Squanto went to live with an English merchant in London for another 5 years gaining a knowledge of the English language and customs. Finally, Squanto was able to join a voyage back to his native America as an interpreter. He found his home tribe of Pawtuxet wiped out (by a smallpox plaque), and he wandered to join a nearby tribe. When the Pilgrims arrived and were struggling to survive, Squanto taught them many skills of growing corn and other vegetables, as well as how to fish and gather much food from the surrounding vegetation. Plus, his interpretation skills helped immensely to improve relations with the Native Americans. Because he helped advance social integrity for the Pilgrims which made a huge impact to start the American colonies, he is considered a HOSS indeed! Lincoln in Gettysburg - STRENGTH - S3 E20

Abraham Lincoln delivered his Gettysburg Address on November 19, 1863 to a gathered crowd of an estimated 10-15 thousand people to dedicate the national burial site for the soldiers who died during the great battle at Gettysburg, PA (which had occured in July 1863).  His simple language and short speech length was in stark contrast to the speech delivered by Edward Everett who spoke eloquently for 2 hours straight immediately beforehand.  Lincoln had been invited to give a few remarks, but the main attraction was this professional orator, Mr. Everett.  Lincoln had to pause a handful of times during the 2-minute speech due to applause.  The next day, after Lincoln's speech had been printed in newspapers around the country, Lincoln received much respect for his leadership and he gained further support for the war effort.  Lincoln, the Great Emancipator, had successfully moved the people of the nation to keep advancing the devastating war effort and expect more sacrifice to achieve the goal of victory for liberty.  Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States, provided steadfast leadership during the most challenging period of American history, the Civil War, managing to put an end to slavery!  Lincoln's great focus on advancing social integrity through executive leadership and his ultimate sacrifice/full measure of devotion means he is considered a HOSS indeed!
