    Pitch Matching, Introduction (Ear Training)

    Pitch Matching, Introduction (Ear Training)

Welcome to the Ear Training Audio Series and the episode "Pitch Matching, Introduction (Ear Training)"
Pitch Matching is a simple but effective Ear Training technique.
It consists of listening to notes being played at the piano and singing them back.
We are going to play random notes all across the keyboard.
We will listen to those notes and do our best to sing them back by matching the right pitch.
We are going to use all 88 notes available at the piano, in order to train to perceive a wide range of pitches.
This might be challenging in the beginning, but you’ll be surprised how your “Aural Bandwidth” will expand through this practice.
When singing the notes back, we will sing them in our comfortable vocal range.

    So, that is "Pitch Matching"!
Let’s go to the next video and start practicing.

    See you then!

Awesome

Ear training in the car! Now, the commute isn’t so bad after all.

CamposMusic ,

A great Ear Training workout!

I can listen to the Ear Training exercises while I’m walking or doing other chores and still improve my musical skills. One of the best and most useful Ear Training podcasts.

Joeunwhei ,

Clear and precise!

So many ear training lessons to me, either they give me some notes and let me guess or they don’t know the true concepts of the ear training. Ear training isn’t just about “training your ear”. It has to be further up.
For the singers, they know what they sing, for pianist they truly know the notes what they play.....
I think he understands deeply about the concept of ear training. And he knows why we need this. Sometimes I show this to my students in order to teach them.
Very helpful materials!
