Came for the tea, stayed for the discourse!

Joan and Matthew are incredibly personable, intelligent and hilarious. I started listening when the drama unfolded between Tati and James Charles to better understand what happened. Since then, I have listened religiously to every episode and subscribed on Patreon. Since May, I have recommended this podcast to countless friends who love it!!! The podcast is a combination of Marxist discourse, media analysis, and a gossip column. I’ve never felt so obsessed with a podcast. I *wished* for something like this before I knew it existed. I am so glad I found it.

Started off great, slowly creeping downward

Joan and Matt are definitely intelligent and hilarious, I’ve listened to many episodes multiple times because of those facts. However, it does seem as time has progressed that arrogance has creeped in and tends to taint a lot of the conversation. I have also noticed that when they don’t like someone/something they are talking about they tend to not really actually look for the truth and are just content to read salacious headlines and mock the subject at hand. I think having a patreon and scaling back to only one episode a week is perfectly fine, but I don’t really need long winded explanations in every podcast about how busy and chaotic their lives are.

Truly incredible

Joan and Matthew manage to tackle deeply complex, and at times charged topics, with a nuanced dialogue that balances humor, information, and commentary in a truly incredible manner. Possibly one of the best podcasts I’ve ever heard.
